Esendex launches multi-factor authentication

Esendex has implemented new security measures to help organisations and individuals deal with the ever-increasing cybersecurity threats. Following the recent rollout of stronger login and passwords, Esendex is launching multi-factor authentication.

What is multi-factor authentication?
As part of additional security measures, Esendex has implemented Multi-Factor Authentication (also known as Two-Factor Authentication). Once Multi-Factor Authentication is enabled, Esendex customers will sometimes be required to provide a second factor of authentication to access their account. This second factor will take the form of a One-Time Passcode (OTP).

How to prepare for multi-factor authentication?
To use multi-factor authentication, Esendex customers must ensure their users have the following:

a valid unique email address;
access to a mobile device that can receive SMS and/or use one of the many authentication applications available (e.g. Google Authenticator).

What is multi-factor authentication?
Multi-factor authentication acts as a login gatekeeper. Multi-factor authentication monitors login behavior and automatically decides whether to prompt users for additional login information.

How to enable multi-factor authentication?
To enable multi-factor authentication (MFA), follow these steps:

Log in to your Esendex account.
Click on your name at the top right of your screen.
This will take you to your profile section.
Next, scroll down to the “Multi-Factor Authentication” section.
Check the box “Protect my account with multi-factor authentication”.
Click the green “Save” button.
That's it, multi-factor authentication is now configured on your account.
