How to send an email via Gmail step by step

There are still people who don't know how to send an email and don't ask anyone for fear of being embarrassed. There's nothing to be ashamed of, no one knows how email works until someone explains it to them for the first time, and in this case I'm proud to be me.

Here I'm going to show you how to send an email with Gmail. I choose Gmail because, between you and me, it's by far the most used email manager in the world.

What is Gmail

Gmail is a free email service offered by Google and has been student database since 2004. To use Gmail you only need a Google account. If you use any Google service such as Drive or Google Fit you already have a Google account and can therefore access Gmail (even if you have never done so before).

How to send an email with Gmail?

Already have a Google account? Great, you can now access Gmail to send emails and view your inbox. Here are the steps to follow:

Sign in to your Gmail account at gmail.com .
Enter your email and click next.
Enter your password and click Login.
To compose an email, click on the + icon that appears in the upper left corner:


A pop-up window appears where you can write your message.


In the To field, enter the address to which you are going to send the email.

In the Subject field (which can be left empty, although it is not recommended) you should put a short sentence that briefly summarises what your email is about. For example, “CV for job offer”. I advise you to keep the subject as short as possible to avoid it looking like SPAM.

Below the Subject you have the text field to write the email. If you want to attach a file to your email (such as an image, a PDF, a Word document, etc.) you have to click on the clip and search for and select the file. In the send bar there are other options that you can explore (add images, emoticons, etc.).

When your message is ready (I recommend checking your spelling), hit Send.
To check that your message has been sent correctly, you can go to the Sent section, in the menu on the left, and check that it appears there.
