Sam Altman , CEO and co-founder of OpenAI , has been in Madrid meeting with politicians and giving a talk at the IE University auditorium .
Altman has visited Moncloa to meet with the President of Spain, Pedro Sánchez , and has also been with the Vice President and Minister of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, Nadia Calviño .

The regulation of artificial intelligence
As this is a topic of current interest, Altman has not been shy about speaking about the regulation of artificial intelligence or the risks that this new technology can pose to people's lives.
During his presentation, he asked the room: “How many of you here believe that future ChatGPT models should be regulated ?” To which most of the attendees raised their hands. He also subsequently asked if the attendees believed that AI tools should be open source , to which a majority leaned towards the affirmative answer , where Altman has assured that, in this case, he does not agree with the answer .
The CEO of OpenAI has explained that regulating AI in small models does not make sense , as it is not good for small companies because it would affect their capacity for innovation and creation .
