How to copy properties across workflows in Hubspot

Post by Abdur11 »

If you are a regular Hubspot user , you have probably asked yourself on several occasions why there is no automatic synchronization of information between the different objects in which the tool stores data (contacts, companies and offers).

The information we fill in the contacts section will not be available in the company section associated with this contact. How can we solve this? By copying the values from one object to another through the Hubspot workflows tool .

Thanks to these workflows, we can create an automatic rule that allows us to copy the values of one property to another in bulk, so we will no longer have to worry about manually copying those properties to each and every record in our database.

Copy default properties from Hubspot

As we already know, Hubspot has numerous default thailand telegram properties for contacts , companies and offers . These properties have a field typology that cannot be edited and that will condition us when copying this information to another property.

There are many similar properties that can be found in both the company properties section and the contact section , such as the “company name” property. However, information about it will only be available on the detail page of the company section , but it will not appear within the contact information , so it will be necessary to copy it from one object to another.

This data copying will be very simple, since this property is set by default by Hubspot in both objects:

Contact Properties

Copy custom properties

However, things get complicated when we want to copy custom properties that do not necessarily exist in all object types.

An indispensable condition is that the source property , from which we want to copy the data, and the destination property , to which we want to copy it, have a compatible field type . This means that we can copy properties between open fields, from one drop-down field to another, or even from a drop-down field to an open field, but we can never copy it to a file property, for example.
